The Ministry of Land and Resources requires guaranteeing land-expropriated farmers' right to know

In response to current problems at the grassroots level such as incomplete content in land expropriation information disclosure, non-standard disclosure practices, unsound disclosure procedures, and the inconvenience and lack of timeliness for the public in learning disclosed information, the Ministry of Land and Resources recently issued the "Notice on Further Improving the Work Related to Land Expropriation Information Disclosure at the Municipal and County Levels," requiring that disclosure efforts be effectively intensified to effectively guarantee land-expropriated farmers' right to know.

The "Notice" clarifies the primary responsibility for land expropriation information disclosure at the municipal and county levels. The "Notice" requires that in land expropriation work, the procedures of "notification, confirmation, and hearing" before submission for approval and the "two announcements and one registration" after approval must be strictly followed to disclose land expropriation information in a timely manner, making it convenient for the public to inquire.

The "Notice" adds content for proactive disclosure of land expropriation information at the municipal and county levels. In accordance with the requirement that "disclosure is the principle and non-disclosure is the exception," proactive disclosure of land expropriation information has been further intensified.
