China's largest navel orange production area achieves full direct export clearance from inland
On the 18th, the Dingnan highway port operation area in Gannan, Jiangxi, located in China's largest navel orange production area, officially began customs clearance operations. This means that Gannan navel oranges exported overseas can complete declaration, inspection and release at the local level in one go, directly saving more than 10 million yuan in business costs each year.
The Dingnan highway port operation area in Gannan, Jiangxi, China's largest navel orange production area, has officially begun customs clearance operations.
Gannan, China's largest navel orange production area, is located inland, and the cost of inbound and outbound logistics is high. The Dingnan highway port's achievement of full direct clearance for export navel orange containers means that Gannan has "moved" a coastal port inland. From now on, exported navel oranges can complete the entire process at the highway port, including container disinfection, fitness for carriage, inspection and quarantine, supervised loading, and logistics, and after one local declaration, inspection and release, be exported directly through the Shenzhen port.
It is estimated that after the implementation of full direct export clearance, each container will shorten customs clearance time by more than 2 days and directly save 1,200 yuan. From November 2014 to April of the following year, navel oranges cleared through the Dingnan highway port operation area are expected to reach 60,000 tons, with a total cargo value of about 600 million US dollars.
Ganzhou city in the Gannan area ranks first in the world in navel orange planting area and third in the world in annual output. There are 250,000 farming households growing navel oranges, with nearly one million rural laborers engaged in the industry. In 2014, Gannan navel orange output is expected to be about 1.2 million tons, accounting for 15% of global navel orange output; in addition to the domestic market, they will also be sold to more than 20 countries and regions, including Southeast Asia, Russia and North America.
