Since the "12th Five-Year Plan", central government investment in grain science and technology innovation has exceeded 5
The National Grain Science and Technology Innovation Conference was held in Beijing a few days ago. Reporters learned from the conference that in recent years, China's top-level design for grain science and technology innovation has been continuously optimized, the development environment for grain science and technology has continued to improve, investment in grain science and technology has increased markedly, and scientific and technological innovation achievements have been abundant. Since the "12th Five-Year Plan", central government financial support for grain science and technology projects has exceeded 800 million yuan, driving more than 5 billion yuan in investment from various types of innovation funds.
Ren Zhengxiao, Director of the National Grain Administration, pointed out that grain science and technology work must both "reach the sky", taking the safeguarding and support of national food security as a "responsibility as great as heaven" and a "mission as high as heaven"; and also "land on the ground", with scientific research closely integrated with national conditions and grain conditions, and technological innovation closely aligned with industry needs and public needs, highlighting solutions to the most urgent and critical scientific and technological problems.
This conference made clear that by 2020, China's grain science and technology innovation development will deeply advance the reform of the grain science and technology system, enhance the industry's capacity for independent innovation, accelerate the construction of an open, scientific, efficient and practical grain science and technology innovation platform system and achievement promotion system, and vigorously implement the "Science and Technology Innovation Project", the "Science and Technology Demonstration Project" and the "Smart Grain Project", providing strong momentum and powerful support for ensuring national food security and raising the modernization level of the grain circulation industry.
