All major breeding counties must establish professional harmless treatment facilities
The Ministry of Agriculture, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance, and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission jointly held a teleconference today on the mechanism for the harmless treatment of dead livestock and poultry. The meeting required that all regions fully advance the development of the harmless treatment mechanism for dead livestock and poultry, and strive to ensure that dead livestock and poultry basically achieve harmless treatment, fundamentally solving the problem of arbitrarily discarding dead livestock and poultry.
Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu stated that establishing a harmless treatment mechanism for dead livestock and poultry is an urgent need for advancing ecological civilization construction. For major pig-producing counties and major poultry breeding counties with an annual stock of more than 50 million birds, in principle each county must establish a professional harmless treatment facility. All large-scale breeding farms and households must be incorporated into the harmless treatment system through self-built facilities or entrusted treatment. All localities must base their efforts on local realities, further refine and substantiate policy measures, promote the transformation and upgrading of the livestock and poultry breeding industry, and continuously raise the level of standardized and large-scale breeding.
