According to statistics bureau data, total grain output increased by 10.3 billion jin in 2014

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, December 4 (Lu Chao) According to a message released on the website of the National Bureau of Statistics on the 4th, based on the National Bureau of Statistics' sample survey of agricultural production and operation households in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) nationwide and comprehensive statistics on agricultural production and operation units, the national total grain output was 607.099 million tons (1214.2 billion jin), an increase of 5.16 million tons (10.32 billion jin) over 2013, up 0.9%. Among this, total cereal output was 557.269 million tons (1114.54 billion jin), an increase of 4.577 million tons (9.15 billion jin) over 2013, up 0.8%.

According to statistics, in 2014 the national grain sown area was 112,738.3 thousand hectares (1,691.074 million mu), an increase of 782.7 thousand hectares (11.741 million mu) over 2013, up 0.7%. Among this, the cereal sown area was 94,622.8 thousand hectares (1,419.341 million mu), an increase of 854.1 thousand hectares (12.812 million mu) over 2013, up 0.9%.

Grain yield per unit area also rose slightly. In 2014 the national grain yield per unit area was 5,385 kg/hectare (359 kg/mu), an increase of 8.4 kg/hectare (0.6 kg/mu) over 2013, up 0.2%. Among this, the cereal yield per unit area was 5,889.4 kg/hectare (392.6 kg/mu), a decrease of 4.8 kg/hectare (0.3 kg/mu) over 2013, down 0.1%.
