Northeast China's excellent rice is grown through strict management
From the cold regions of Northeast China to the mild and humid Yangtze River basin, and further to the hot and humid Hainan Island, rice, as one of China's main food crops, is planted from north to south. And in China's family of rice, when it comes to quality and taste, many people will blurt out, “Of course Northeast rice is the most delicious!” Undoubtedly, this perception of Northeast rice has long been deeply rooted in people's minds.
As far as the three northeastern provinces are concerned, there really are quite a few delicious rice varieties in the region: Wuchang rice, Xiangshui rice, Panjin rice…… Consumers can all name a few, which fully shows the reputation and brand effect of Northeast rice in the market.
Delicious rice is “born” that way. The growing areas of Northeast rice are basically all located in cold regions, with a growth cycle of about 180 days. The “slow” growth allows the rice to fully enjoy the unique natural “care”. It can freely absorb the nourishment of sunshine and rain, fully take in the rich nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other mineral nutrients in the fertile black soil, and also enjoy abundant water irrigation from the Heilongjiang, Songhua, Ussuri and other rivers.
Such an excellent natural environment is irreplaceable, creating the “born” superb quality of Northeast rice. On the vast, flat land of the Northeast Plain, rice grows freely just like this.
⟦NL> Besides Northeast rice, many people may not yet be very familiar with rice produced in Ningxia in the northwest. It is not widely known that, relying on irrigation from the Yellow River and the nutrient-rich soil of the alluvial plain, Ningxia rice grown in the “Jiangnan beyond the Great Wall” possesses excellent quality and superb taste, and enjoys a high reputation in the region.
We often say that a person's success is three parts destiny and seven parts hard work. This analogy also applies to the growth of rice and the achievement of rice quality.
From selecting excellent crop varieties to planting, management, harvesting, processing…… every one of these links is in fact inseparable from the human factor. Whether it is scientific rice cultivation, fine management, or mechanized harvesting, modern processing…… in the final analysis, all require human awareness, human “care”, and human management. Whether it is innate advantage or acquired technology, all require people to integrate and implement them. Only when care is given with dedication can the excellent quality of rice be amplified; only when management is in place can a double harvest of rice quality and yield be achieved.
Whether it is the Northeast reclamation area on black soil, the Ningxia reclamation area in the Yellow River irrigation zone, or the Jiangsu reclamation area by the water and near the sea, as the main planted crop variety of local food crops, in developing the rice industry, from improved seed breeding to soil fertility improvement, from standardized planting to scientific management and protection, from quality traceability to branded operation, they have all achieved, throughout the entire process, an agricultural industrialization production and operation model integrating scientific, intensive, large-scale and mechanized cultivation, planting and harvesting in one chain, highlighting the essence of modern agriculture. How could rice produced in this way fail to be both high-yielding and high-quality? How could it fail to be delicious?
Gifted resources need to be cherished and rationally developed, and “born” advantages need to be maintained and scientifically managed. By using technological means and market concepts, the reclamation areas have enabled “born” good rice, under human management, to achieve quality, win the market, earn benefits and build a reputation.
