It is understood that the China Agricultural Machinery Association, in accordance with the arrangements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Machinery Industry Federation, has completed the first draft of the outline for the “13th Five-Year” development plan for the agricultural machinery industry, and has initially proposed major construction projects and contents for the development of the agricultural machinery industry (key products, key technologies, key components), etc.
According to the introduction, China has entered a critical period of accelerating the transformation of traditional agriculture and vigorously developing modern agriculture. Especially during the “12th Five-Year” period, China's agricultural mechanization made tremendous progress, and the process of a new era dominated by mechanized production methods is accelerating in breadth and depth.
According to the two quantitative indicators of the “12th Five-Year” plan for 2015: first, “total agricultural machinery power reaching 1 billion kilowatts” was already achieved ahead of schedule in 2012, and by 2013 it had reached 1.06 billion kilowatts; second, “the comprehensive level of mechanization for cultivation and harvesting reaching more than 60%” is also expected to be achieved ahead of schedule this year, with expectations of reaching more than 61%.
