From the National Grain Administration: In 2014, all parts of the country, through measures such as raising prices to support the market, increasing purchases, paying higher prices for higher quality, improving quality through drying and cleaning, and reducing post-production losses, helped grain-growing farmers increase income by more than 55 billion yuan.

Ren Zhengxiao, director of the National Grain Administration, said that under the circumstances of great pressure on grain purchase and storage in main producing areas, all production and sales areas worked together in unity and actively adopted multiple measures such as promoting sales to reduce stocks, building warehouses to expand capacity, and linking production and sales, effectively easing the contradiction in grain purchase and storage and avoiding the occurrence of farmers“having difficulty selling grain”. According to statistics from the National Grain Administration, in 2014, the grain purchase volume of various grain enterprises nationwide exceeded 700 billion jin for the first time, reaching a total of 729.8 billion jin, an increase of 40.9 billion jin year-on-year, of which grain purchased at minimum purchase prices and through temporary storage totaled 247.8 billion jin, an increase of 81.4 billion jin year-on-year. For the whole year, policy-related grain sold through competitive bidding totaled 105.3 billion jin, and 20 billion jin was transferred across provinces; production and sales linkages were actively promoted, and the interprovincial grain circulation volume reached 330 billion jin.
