The Ministry of Agriculture Officially Establishes the National Leisure Agriculture Expert Committee
Website News Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture established the National Leisure Agriculture Expert Committee and issued the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture on the Establishment of the First National Leisure Agriculture Expert Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture." The committee is composed of 27 academicians and experts from the fields of agriculture, economics, tourism, planning and design.
Leisure agriculture is a new industrial form and consumption format. Its development is of great significance for accelerating the transformation of agricultural development methods as China's economy enters the new normal, adjusting and optimizing the agricultural structure, promoting the integration and interaction of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, achieving improved agricultural quality and efficiency, increasing farmers' employment and income, ensuring rural prosperity and stability, and coordinating urban-rural economic and social integrated development. In order to fully draw on outside expertise and better perform its leisure agriculture industry management functions, the Ministry of Agriculture established the “National Leisure Agriculture Expert Committee” in January 2015, appointing Academician Liu Xu as chairman of the “National Leisure Agriculture Expert Committee”, Ye Xingqing, Chen Zongmao, Wu Kongming, Yu Kongjian, Zhu Xinkai and other 5 experts as vice chairmen, and Li Xinjian and other 21 experts as expert committee members, with a term of five years.
The main duties of the “National Leisure Agriculture Expert Committee” are to carry out research on the development status, typical models, existing problems, and policy recommendations of national leisure agriculture; to provide consultation and demonstration on the development strategy, development planning, and policy research reports of national leisure agriculture; to provide expert consultation and technical guidance for the industry's resource integration, planning and design, creative planning, operations management, brand building, and product development; and to participate in the formulation of relevant industry standards and related policies for leisure agriculture.
The expert committee is an important think tank and intellectual support for scientific decision-making in the Ministry of Agriculture's leisure agriculture management work. The Ministry of Agriculture issued a document requiring expert committee members to fully recognize the importance of this work, effectively enhance their sense of responsibility and mission, perform their duties with a positive and serious attitude and a scientific and rigorous style, effectively play the role of decision-making consultation and intellectual support, and make positive contributions to promoting the sustained and healthy development of leisure agriculture and building beautiful villages and a beautiful China.
