How to deal with stagnant buds? These methods help you solve it effectively
How to deal with stagnant buds!
Today I saw a fellow orchid grower asking how to deal with stagnant buds! I really didn't know what to say!
The general causes of stagnant buds are: 1 Excessive fertilizer! Too much fertilizer can cause stagnant buds! 2 Excessive moisture! Planting medium that is too wet, occurring when the new bud first forms! 3 Chemicals! Improper use of chemicals can also cause stagnant buds! 4 Mechanical damage! Dividing plants during the budding stage, accidentally causing external injury!
Generally, treating stagnant buds in the early to mid stages still leaves some room for rescue! It can only be a case of treating a dead horse as if it were alive! I have some handling procedures, which I wouldn't call experience, but I hope they can be useful! I have used them, and they have some effect! But they must be used in the early to mid stages!
1 Stagnant buds are generally caused by an outer sheath that is too thick. In the early to mid stages of stagnant bud formation, use scissors to cut off the bud tip, and there is still hope for leaves to sprout!
2 Using "Xian U Su" can have some effect, activating the stagnant bud!
3 Applying aloe vera juice also has some effect, but I have used it, and personally I think the effect is not very obvious!
4. Observe what caused it! If the planting medium is too rich in fertilizer or too wet, you need to change the planting medium! If it is caused by fertilizing and mechanical damage, or by chemicals, then you need to judge for yourself!
If there is anything improper or insufficient, please do point it out and add to it! Thank you!
