How is livestock product safety guaranteed? Strengthening supervision and consolidating the foundation
In order to implement the overall deployment of the Central Rural Work Conference, the National Agricultural Work Conference, and the No. 1 document of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2015 regarding agricultural product quality and safety work, the Ministry of Agriculture recently issued the "Key Work Points for the Livestock Industry in 2015," clearly requiring effective fulfillment of the regulatory responsibilities for feed quality and safety, illegal addition of “lean meat powder,” and raw milk quality and safety, so as to guarantee the quality and safety of livestock products.

To carry out implementation work well, the Ministry of Agriculture will issue guiding opinions and continue to organize demonstration creation of the "Code" nationwide to establish a number of models. On the “management” side, the focus will be on strengthening feed quality and safety risk monitoring. While continuing to organize supervisory spot checks on feed quality and safety and handling nonconforming products according to law, it will focus on illegal use of new types of additives and potential contaminants in feed ingredients, organize hidden danger investigations and early warning monitoring, and improve the ability to proactively prevent and control risks.
