Interpretation of Key Crop Seed Industry Development Goals
●Wheat
It is expected that by 2020, the focus will be on developing high-yield, high-quality strong-gluten wheat varieties and widely adaptable, water-saving, high-yield medium-gluten wheat varieties; cultivating and promoting 1 to 2 new varieties with a promotion area of more than 500,000 mu, promoting the city's average wheat yield per mu to increase to more than 450 kg, building 200,000 mu of large-scale, standardized, and mechanized seed propagation bases, with annual seed production output stably maintained at more than 110 million kg; cultivating 2 to 3 key wheat seed enterprises.
●Peanut
It is expected that by 2020, a batch of new varieties with high yield, high quality, multiple resistance, wide adaptability, and suitability for mechanized operations will be cultivated, among which 2 to 3 will have an annual promotion area exceeding 300,000 mu; the oil extraction rate of oil peanuts will be increased by 5%, and the oleic acid content of high-oleic varieties will reach more than 60%; establishing 150,000 mu of peanut seed breeding bases; cultivating 2 to 3 seed enterprises with the capacity to annually operate 10 million kg of improved peanut seeds.
●Corn
It is expected that by 2020, 2 to 3 corn hybrid varieties with excellent quality, high and stable yield, fast dehydration, strong stress resistance, and suitability for mechanized operations, with an annual promotion area of more than 300,000 mu, will be introduced and cultivated, completing a new round of variety upgrading.
●Vegetables
It is expected that by 2020, 15,000 mu of vegetable seed breeding bases mainly for Chinese cabbage will be established, achieving 1 to 2 rounds of variety renewal for major vegetable crops, with the coverage rate of improved varieties of major vegetables reaching more than 95%, and 50% of high-end vegetable varieties achieving domestication; achieving sales of 1.5 million kg of Chinese cabbage seeds, and cultivating 3 to 4 seed enterprises with core competitiveness.
