Life Lessons and Reflections That Orchids Have Given Me

Life Lessons Orchids Have Given Me
The life lessons orchids have given me are these: when you deliberately try to smell it, it refuses to be fragrant; its fragrance lies where you least intend it. Be like the orchid, fragrant in a clear and pleasant way. Some flowers are fragrant too, but their scent is pungent and overwhelming, and over time people cannot stand it. The orchid's fragrance lingers so that you no longer notice it; lean in close and it will not grow stronger, yet when you wake at dawn or return at night, before you know it a faint, delicate fragrance has already drifted over you. The friendship of true gentlemen is as plain as water, which by no means denies deep friendship; a friendship like the orchid does not crowd around you when you are wealthy, but always remembers you, and always stands before you when you need it most. This is the truest kind, and only this can last long and endure. Not competing in beauty with peach and plum blossoms, not changing color because of frost and snow, not altering one's integrity because of poverty, this is the highest realm of being a person. I love orchids, and I love the orchid's character even more. Are you the same as me!!!!
