According to statistics, as of March 5, various grain enterprises in 14 major mid-to-late indica rice producing areas including Hubei and Anhui had purchased a cumulative total of 28.21 million tonnes of newly harvested mid-to-late indica rice, a decrease of 1.52 million tonnes from the same period last year; various grain enterprises in 7 major japonica rice producing areas including Heilongjiang and Jilin had purchased a cumulative total of 39.44 million tonnes of newly harvested japonica rice, an increase of 6.88 million tonnes from the same period last year; various grain enterprises in 5 major soybean producing areas including Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang had purchased a cumulative total of 1.83 million tonnes of newly harvested soybeans, a decrease of 2.97 million tonnes from the same period last year.
