20 Groups of Agriculture-Related Key Figures in the 2015 Government Work Report

I. Review of Work in 2014

1. Grain output reached 1.21 trillion jin;

2. The per capita disposable income of rural residents grew by 9.2% in real terms, faster than the income growth of urban residents;

3. The rural poor population decreased by 12.32 million;

4. The drinking water safety problem of more than 66 million rural people was resolved;

5. Grain output achieved an “eleventh consecutive increase” and farmers' incomes achieved a “fifth consecutive year of rapid growth”;

6. An additional 33.45 million mu of water-saving irrigation area was added;

7. 230,000 km of rural roads were newly built or upgraded;

8. A temporary assistance system was fully established, and the minimum living allowance standard was raised by 14.1%;

9. 28 provinces realized that children of migrant workers could take the college entrance examination in the places they had moved to;

10. The number of rural students from poor areas admitted to key universities grew by more than 10% for two consecutive years.

II. Overall Work Arrangements for 2015

11. This year, grain output must be kept stable at more than 1.1 trillion jin;

12. Land improvement will be advanced, and 200 million mu of land will be added for deep loosening;

13. This year, the drinking water safety problem of another 60 million rural people will be resolved

14. 200,000 km of rural roads will be newly built or upgraded, and the task of replacing zip lines with bridges in remote mountainous areas of the west will be fully completed;

15. Efforts will be made to ensure that the last more than 200,000 people without electricity can all have access to electricity;

16. No matter how difficult it is, this year the rural poor population must be reduced by more than 10 million again.

17. 3.66 million rural dilapidated houses will be renovated, an increase of 1 million, and seismic retrofitting of rural houses will be advanced in a coordinated way;

18. The basic pension standard for urban and rural residents will be raised uniformly from 55 yuan to 70 yuan;

19. The subsidy standard for per capita basic public health service funds will be raised from 35 yuan to 40 yuan, and the increase will all be used to pay for the basic public health services provided by village doctors, making it convenient for hundreds of millions of farmers to seek medical treatment nearby.

20. This year, an additional 10 million mu of farmland will be returned to forest and grassland, and 90 million mu of trees will be planted.
