Increase subsidies for tea farmers growing tea
The tea industry is an industry that enriches the people, integrating ecological functions, economic functions, cultural functions, social functions, and health-and-character-cultivation functions in one. According to statistics, among China's 1.3 billion population, the number of people engaged in the tea industry has reached more than 80 million, accounting for 6% of the total population. Liu Wenxin, a deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman of Xinyang Wenxin Tea Co., Ltd., said in an interview that, judging from the tea consumption market in 2014, the sluggish and depressed scene was more prominent than in previous years. At the same time, due to the combined influence of multiple factors such as the domestic tea consumption market tending toward rationality, the sharp increase in the cost inputs of tea farmers for growing and picking tea, and the numerous difficulties in transforming production methods, the cost of tea farmers growing tea has increased greatly.
Liu Wenxin suggested that the state should increase tea-growing subsidies for tea farmers nationwide. On the one hand, this can increase the direct income of tea farmers and is conducive to social stability and harmony; on the other hand, it can accelerate the pace of transformation of the tea industry and promote the rapid advancement of China's tea industry toward modern agriculture; at the same time, it can develop and strengthen China's tea industry, make full use of the power of culture, increase the international influence of Chinese tea culture, and achieve prosperity for tea farmers.
