Daily Report on the National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index, March 13, 2015

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on March 13 the “National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index” was 204.97, down 1.31 points from yesterday, of which the “vegetable basket” product wholesale price index was 206.66, down 1.62 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork at national agricultural wholesale markets was 17.49 yuan/kg (the pork wholesale price index was 156.28), down 0.1% from yesterday;

Beef was 54.34 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Mutton was 53.10 yuan/kg, up 0.4% from yesterday;

Eggs were 8.35 yuan/kg, down 0.7% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken was 15.38 yuan/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetable varieties was 4.05 yuan/kg (the vegetable wholesale price index was 215.86), down 1.2% from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruit varieties was 6.26 yuan/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 13.74 yuan/kg, down 1.1% from yesterday;

Common carp was 12.69 yuan/kg, up 0.2% from yesterday;

Silver carp was 7.12 yuan/kg, down 1.2% from yesterday;

Largehead hairtail was 28.13 yuan/kg, up 0.9% from yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties key monitored at domestic fresh agricultural product wholesale markets, the top five price increases compared with yesterday were: carrots, watermelon, mandarin oranges, largehead hairtail and ginger, with increases of 2.0%, 1.7%, 1.3%, 0.9% and 0.9% respectively; the top five price decreases were: scallions, cucumbers, rapeseed greens, pumpkins and green peppers, with decreases of 3.5%, 3.5%, 3.5%, 3.1% and 2.8% respectively.
