Central government allocates 250 million yuan in agricultural production disaster relief funds
Since the beginning of winter, 8 provinces (regions) including Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Sichuan and Yunnan have been widely affected by snowfall and temperature drops, with serious shortages of forage and feed, bringing adverse effects on livestock production and herders' lives, and the situation for combating disasters and protecting livestock is very severe.
In order to support the above 8 provinces (regions) in combating disasters and protecting livestock, restoring production and building up forage and feed reserves, after consultation and agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, the central government recently arranged and allocated 250 million yuan in agricultural production disaster relief funds to provide appropriate subsidies to affected people for purchasing breeding stock, diesel, agricultural film and forage and feed reserves. At the same time, the above areas are required to allocate funds promptly, effectively strengthen supervision, ensure that agricultural production disaster relief funds are used exclusively for their designated purposes, and improve the efficiency of fund use.
The central government will continue to closely monitor the impact of severe weather on agriculture and animal husbandry, and will actively arrange agricultural production disaster relief funds according to the disaster situation, supporting all localities in combating disasters and ensuring spring plowing.
