Quality agricultural supplies enter villages, cracking down on counterfeits to protect farmers and safeguard spring farming production
On March 25, the Ministry of Agriculture held the "11th on-site consultation event for quality agricultural supplies going to villages and entering households" in Fufeng County, Shaanxi Province, and at the same time launched the national publicity week for quality agricultural supplies going to villages and entering households. Vice Minister of Agriculture Chen Xiaohua attended the event and delivered a speech.
Chen Xiaohua pointed out that agricultural supplies are an important material guarantee for agricultural production, and their quality is directly related to the quantity, quality and efficiency of agricultural development, and is closely tied to the vital interests of the broad masses of farmers. On February 28, the Ministry of Agriculture and seven other departments jointly launched the 2015 national special campaign against counterfeit agricultural supplies. As an important activity of the special campaign, the on-site consultation for quality agricultural supplies going to villages and entering households organized agricultural science and technology personnel to go to the grassroots, into village groups and into farming households, to teach common knowledge for identifying counterfeit agricultural supplies, popularize laws and regulations, deliver quality agricultural supplies to villages and households, and guide the scientific, standardized and rational use of agricultural supplies. It was deeply welcomed by the broad masses of farmers.
⟦NL> At this event, more than 100 consultation desks were set up, including for agricultural policies and regulations, agricultural technology, and identification of genuine and fake agricultural supplies. Nearly a hundred experts came to the site and taught farmers hand by hand the knowledge, technology and policies urgently needed in production, such as identifying fake and inferior agricultural supplies, channels for safeguarding rights, pest and disease control, practical planting and breeding techniques, good seeds and good methods, and animal epidemic prevention. The Shaanxi Provincial Department of Agriculture specially raised quality and reliable agricultural supplies worth more than 5 million yuan and delivered them into the hands of the farmer masses, ensuring that farmers could use reliable seeds, reliable fertilizers and reliable pesticides. During the event, more than 1,000 kg of fake and inferior seeds were destroyed on site, signaling a severe crackdown on illegal acts that cheat and harm farmers and effectively deterring lawbreakers.
Agricultural departments at all levels in Shaanxi Province deeply carried out the special campaign against counterfeit agricultural supplies, comprehensively strengthened the construction of systems and mechanisms, continuously intensified supervision of the production, operation and use of agricultural supplies, vigorously promoted chain operations for agricultural supplies, and implemented "black and red list" management. The order of the agricultural supplies market continued to remain stable and improve, providing strong support for realizing an "11th consecutive increase" in grain production and an "11th consecutive rapid increase" in farmers' incomes.
The atmosphere at the event was very lively, and the broad masses of farmers actively participated. In just half a day, the event received more than 2,000 local farmers and distributed more than 10,000 copies of materials such as "plain-language sheets for identifying fakes" and agricultural science and technology production materials. The whole event achieved good results.
