The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Engineering Planning and Design Research Institute recently released the "Feasibility Study Report on Producing 10,000 Tons of Nano Humus Annually," pointing out the application of mechanochemical technology to process humic acid, humus, humic matrix, humic-like acid, carbon, etc. from humic acid-containing mineral sources into "nano humic matrix" products that have special conditioning effects on various soils and purification effects on water. The successful development of this new soil improvement technology is expected to meet the production requirements for high-quality agricultural products.

Compared with other fertilizers, humus fertilizer has outstanding ecological and economic benefits. Compared with chemical fertilizers: humus fertilizer has a complete range of nutrient elements, while chemical fertilizers contain only one or a few nutrient elements; humus fertilizer can improve the microbial community in crop roots and enhance plants' resistance to pests and diseases, while chemical fertilizers result in a single microbial population in crops, making them prone to pests and diseases; humus fertilizer can promote the utilization of chemical fertilizers. Compared with refined organic fertilizer: humus fertilizer does not burn roots or rot seedlings, while refined organic fertilizer, having not been fully decomposed, will decompose in the soil after direct use and cause seedling burn; humus fertilizer contains no pathogenic bacteria or insect eggs and will not cause pests and diseases. Compared with farmyard manure: humus fertilizer contains no insect eggs.

The production of nano humus compensates for the shortcomings of chemical fertilizers. It can not only provide comprehensive nutrition to crops, improve crop quality, reduce pesticide use, and ensure food safety, but also benefit the sustainable development of agriculture.
