At present, more than 35 million farmers across the country are directly engaged in bamboo forest cultivation, bamboo product processing and other production and business activities. China's bamboo industry has become one of the effective ways to increase farmers' income, and millions of bamboo farmers have become wealthy thanks to bamboo resources. According to reports, our country is rich in bamboo resources, with a national bamboo forest area of more than 5.2 million hectares. There are more than 500 species in more than 40 genera of bamboo, and both bamboo timber stock and output rank first in the world. China's bamboo industry has already formed an emerging industry with considerable potential and vitality, spanning resource cultivation, processing and utilization, export trade, and bamboo ecological tourism.
