Modern Young Farmer Training Program Launched
Website News It was learned from the “2015 Farmer Training Project Management Training Class and National Agricultural Broadcasting and Television School Work Seminar” that starting this year, the Ministry of Agriculture will join with the Ministry of Education and the Communist Youth League Central Committee to launch and implement the “Modern Young Farmer Training Program”, which plans to select 10,000 modern young farmers aged 18—45 each year and cultivate them into young farmers, injecting fresh blood into the development of modern agriculture. This is also a new measure in the Ministry of Agriculture's 2015 work on cultivating new-type professional farmers.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture, the “Modern Young Farmer Training Program” aims to attract and support rural youth in starting businesses and developing industries. According to the requirements of the plan, the selected trainees are large-scale growers and breeders, family farm operators, key members of farmers' professional cooperatives, college students returning to their hometowns to start businesses, secondary and higher vocational school graduates, migrant workers returning to their hometowns, and veterans, all aged between 18—45. The training period is 3 years, and the training content includes professional quality, entrepreneurial ability, policies and regulations, industry development, and case teaching, among other aspects. The ultimate goal is, through systematic cultivation such as training guidance, entrepreneurship incubation, recognition management, policy support, and follow-up services, to build a team of young farmers with strong entrepreneurial ability, high skill levels, and a large driving role.
In addition to launching the “Modern Young Farmer Training Program”, in specific work, each demonstration area will aim at a cultivation system of “three in one, three types coordinated, three levels connected”, with the main task of cultivating production-and-operation-type professional farmers, while also giving attention to cultivating professional-skill-type and social-service-type professional farmers, and fully leveraging the demonstration and driving role. Among them, in the requirements for cultivating social-service-type professional farmers, this year also highlights training for rural e-commerce personnel.
