In recent years, China's use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has shown a double-growth trend. As an agriculture-related high-tech enterprise, Liaoning Weike Biological Engineering Co., Ltd. upholds the concept of “building a green ecological civilization for the benefit of future generations” and has formed a biological pesticide R&D team headed by Dr. Li Shifu, an American biological pesticide expert, as well as a biological fertilizer R&D team centered on Canadian soil physicists Dr. Rob Janzen and Dr. Zhang Zhi, dedicating themselves over the long term to tackling the pollution problems caused by excessive fertilization and pesticide abuse in facility agriculture.

In 2012, they established the “Facility Agriculture Carbon Emission Reduction Nutrient Quantification Research and Industrialization Project” and had it approved as a project in Liaoning Province, integrating plant nutrition and plant protection into one, proposing the new concept of “plant health” and inventing the latest scientific research achievement——the “Kelawo Healthy Package”. This achievement passed appraisal by the Liaoning Provincial Economic and Information Commission on February 7, 2015.

The “Kelawo Healthy Package” is an open package, divided into three major components. First, formula fertilizer that ensures plant nutrition; second, biological organic fertilizer and biological microbial agents that use biotechnology means to improve fertilizer utilization, remediate contaminated soil and control soil-borne diseases; third, pesticides produced or selected from low-toxicity, high-efficiency and environmentally friendly products at home and abroad, for integrated prevention and control of plant diseases, insect pests and rodent pests, promoting healthy plant growth. The main mechanism of action of the “Kelawo Healthy Package” is, through balanced application of inorganic nutrients and biotechnological intervention in soil and plants, to ultimately achieve the goal of balanced nutrient management for different regions and different crops and to control the occurrence of plant diseases, insect pests and rodent pests.
