The Heilongjiang Association for Agriculture with Russia announced on the 28th that the China-Russia (Primorsky Krai) Modern Agricultural Industrial Cooperation Zone has become China's first national-level overseas agricultural industrial park, making it the largest platform for China-Russia agricultural cooperation.

Investment and construction of the park began in 2004, and it has now developed into the largest China-Russia agricultural cooperation project, integrating planting, breeding and processing. The park was invested in and built by Heilongjiang Province's Dongning Huaxin Group, and China's Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Finance jointly issued the "Confirmation Letter for Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones."

As of now, the cooperation zone has 68,000 hectares of arable land and 14 planting areas. As of the end of 2014, investment totaling 120 million US dollars had been completed.

Li Demin, president of the Heilongjiang Association for Agriculture with Russia and chairman of Heilongjiang Province's Dongning Huaxin Group, told a China News Service reporter that the development of the cooperation zone has been recognized by Russian local governments at all levels. At present, the park is taking advantage of the "Belt and Road" momentum to build a China-Russia agricultural cooperation platform, achieve ecological, mechanized, industrialized and technology-driven development of the cooperation zone, and jointly create a production, supply and processing base for Russian organic food and non-GMO grain, making due contributions to realizing the "good neighbor, good friend, good partner" advocated by the leaders of China and Russia.
