National agricultural wholesale price index month-on-month change on May 5, 2015

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on May 5 the “National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index” was 199.99, up 0.01 point from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork at national agricultural wholesale markets was 18.46 yuan/kg (the pork wholesale price index was 161.77), up 0.3% from yesterday;

Beef was 54.04 yuan/kg, down 0.1% from yesterday;

Mutton was 49.79 yuan/kg, up 0.2% from yesterday; eggs were 7.47 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken was 14.99 yuan/kg, up 1.1% from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetable varieties was 3.54 yuan/kg (the vegetable wholesale price index was 199.40), down 0.6% from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruit varieties was 6.41 yuan/kg, up 0.8% from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 13.57 yuan/kg, unchanged from yesterday;

Common carp was 13.29 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Silver carp was 7.00 yuan/kg, up 0.6% from yesterday;

Largehead hairtail was 27.65 yuan/kg, down 0.4% from yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties key monitored at domestic fresh agricultural product wholesale markets, the top five price increases compared with yesterday were: honey mandarin, yardlong bean, celery, ginger and white radish, with increases of 4.5%, 2.0%, 2.0%, 1.6% and 1.4% respectively; the top five price decreases were: Chinese chives, rapeseed greens, pumpkin, zucchini and spinach, with decreases of 5.4%, 4.5%, 3.4%, 2.8% and 2.7% respectively.
