Agricultural product options are coming, Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange will launch trading pilots in due course

At the "Fifth 30-Person Forum on Futures Markets Serving the Real Economy" recently hosted by the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, Zhang Fan, Chairman of the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, said that more new futures varieties will be researched and launched and new trading tools will be provided, and agricultural product options trading pilots will be launched in due course, further broadening the coverage of serving the real economy. This means that after stock ETF options were successfully listed in February this year, China's commodity options are also expected to break new ground.

It is understood that in recent years the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange has listed new futures varieties in an orderly manner, continuously advanced the research and development of agricultural product options, and released the Esunny agricultural product futures price series indexes, striving to enrich the derivatives risk management system.

Data shows that last year both the trading volume and trading value of the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange increased by more than 20%, and the trading volume and open interest hit record highs. Zhang Fan said that in the future the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange will actively promote the construction of the over-the-counter market, meet the individualized needs of enterprises, build a derivatives market risk management system in which on-exchange business and over-the-counter business are coordinated and complementary, and support futures operating institutions in advancing product reengineering and business innovation, providing industrial enterprises with comprehensive service businesses such as cooperative hedging, pricing services, and warehouse receipt services, and improving the risk management capabilities of industrial enterprises.
