Mostly sunny, little rain in Northeast China favors rice transplanting and the final stage of spring sowing
At present, most of Northeast China's rice has entered the suitable transplanting period. In Jilin, 21% of rice has been transplanted, and in Heilongjiang, 30% has been transplanted. Sowing of dryland crops such as spring corn and spring wheat in most of Northeast China is basically complete. In Heilongjiang, due to frequent low-temperature and rainy weather since May, with precipitation from the 10th to the 18th being 1 to 4 times more than usual, some farmland has become waterlogged, soybean sowing has just passed 50%, and paddy field preparation and rice transplanting have also been slightly affected.
According to the National Meteorological Center, over the next 10 days (from the 21st), temperatures in Northeast China will shift from the current below-normal levels to above normal, with less precipitation; only from the 25th to the 27th will most of Northeast China see light to moderate rain. The mostly sunny, rain-deficient weather is favorable for soaking and preparing fields in the Northeast rice region, timely transplanting of single-season rice, and the final stage of sowing dryland crops.
Experts advise: for dryland fields not yet sown, seize the clear, fine weather to sow and plant as quickly as possible, and complete the sowing task as soon as possible; for waterlogged plots, promptly drain and aerate the soil on sunny days to avoid delaying spring sowing. Actively carry out seedling inspection and reseeding of dryland crops such as spring corn to ensure full stands.
In addition, the rice region should promptly soak and prepare fields, and transplant single-season rice at the appropriate time according to weather conditions and seedling age.
