Rise and Fall of the National Agricultural Products Wholesale Price Index on May 22, 2015

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on May 22 the “National Agricultural Products Wholesale Price Index” was 198.77, down 0.43 points from yesterday, of which the “Vegetable Basket” Products Wholesale Price Index was 199.11, down 0.47 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork at the national agricultural products wholesale market was 19.13 yuan/kg (the pork wholesale price index was 164.36), up 0.5% from yesterday;

Beef was 53.74 yuan/kg, down 0.1% from yesterday;

Mutton was 49.16 yuan/kg, down 0.1% from yesterday;

Eggs were 7.37 yuan/kg, up 0.3% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken was 14.70 yuan/kg, down 0.5% from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetables was 3.30 yuan/kg (the vegetable wholesale price index was 185.02), down 1.8% from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruits was 6.56 yuan/kg, down 0.3% from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 14.11 yuan/kg, up 0.6% from yesterday;

Common carp was 13.50 yuan/kg, up 0.2% from yesterday;

Silver carp was 7.12 yuan/kg, up 1.0% from yesterday;

Largehead hairtail was 27.99 yuan/kg, up 1.0% from yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties under key monitoring at the domestic fresh agricultural products wholesale market, the top five price increases compared with yesterday were: pineapple, ya pear, largehead hairtail, silver carp and lotus root, with increases of 2.6%, 2.4%, 1.0%, 1.0% and 0.9% respectively; the top five price decreases were: zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, pumpkin and rapeseed (bok choy), with decreases of 5.5%, 4.7%, 4.3%, 3.3% and 3.3% respectively.
