National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index rises and falls on May 21, 2015

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on May 21 the “National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index” was 199.20, up 0.78 points from yesterday, of which the “Vegetable Basket” Product Wholesale Price Index was 198.58, up 0.80 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork in national agricultural wholesale markets was 19.03 yuan/kg (the pork wholesale price index was 164.41), up 0.4% from yesterday;

Beef was 53.79 yuan/kg, basically flat from yesterday;

Mutton was 49.22 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Eggs were 7.35 yuan/kg, down 0.7% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken was 14.78 yuan/kg, up 0.3% from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetables was 3.36 yuan/kg (the vegetable wholesale price index was 187.65), down 0.3% from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruits was 6.58 yuan/kg, up 0.6% from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 14.03 yuan/kg, down 1.8% from yesterday;

Common carp was 13.47 yuan/kg, down 0.1% from yesterday;

Silver carp was 7.05 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Largehead hairtail was 27.71 yuan/kg, up 1.1% from yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties of fresh and live agricultural products in domestic wholesale markets under key monitoring, compared with yesterday the top five price increases were: Kyoho grape, celery, Chinese chives, spinach and Chinese cabbage, with increases of 3.0%, 3.0%, 3.0%, 3.0% and 2.9% respectively; the top five price decreases were: yardlong bean, oyster mushroom, mandarin orange, eggplant and bok choy, with decreases of 3.3%, 3.2%, 3.2%, 2.7% and 2.7% respectively.
