Manage farmland with LINE! Cloud-based agriculture app monitors your digital farm in real time
Traditional agricultural cultivation management mostly relies on manual labor. To ensure that yield and quality are not affected by pests, diseases and climate, it has gradually developed toward protected cultivation, and greenhouse environmental control equipment is used to adjust the cultivation environment. However, it still faces a shortage of agricultural labor and difficulty in passing on techniques.
In response, the Taoyuan District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (hereinafter referred to as the Taoyuan Station) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, applied Internet of Things technology to build the "Agricultural Production Management Real-time Monitoring Information System," which uses a mobile phone connected to the internet for remote monitoring, instantly adjusting the greenhouse environment to keep track of farm production.

The system automatically adjusts the agricultural production environment; you can view real-time status and historical data
The Taoyuan Station stated that the "Agricultural Production Management Real-time Monitoring Information System" is designed for automatic adjustment of the agricultural production environment, providing crop experts with smart cultivation management modules for development and application in the industry. Before building a smart greenhouse, one should first assess the greenhouse equipment and crop management needs, install environmental sensors and controllers, and transmit the information via the internet to a cloud host; users can then view real-time status and historical data through a mobile phone, tablet or computer, and carry out remote operation of the environmental control equipment.
The Taoyuan Station explained that the "Agricultural Production Management Real-time Monitoring Information System" features control modules offering multiple functions and an easy-to-use program, integrating environmental sensing, automatic control, crop growth prediction and image recognition. Program blocks are the core function of the system; users without an information engineering background can also edit control programs themselves to customize automatic greenhouse control modes. The system is set up on a cloud host and adopts an open system architecture. Sensors and controllers installed in the field are connected through APIs (application programming interfaces), and the monitoring data is uploaded via the internet to the cloud host for storage. The system sends commands to the controllers to switch equipment on and off according to the program block settings, thereby operating the equipment.
Field equipment can be operated and alerts sent via LINE
The Taoyuan Station stated that in addition to recording sensing and control data, it can also record field management operations and network camera (IPCAM) images, and connect to LINE BOT (chatbot) and LINE Notify (message push), integrating LINE with sensors and controllers, so that users can operate field equipment and receive alerts through LINE.
The Taoyuan Station explained that it has applied the system to the development of cultivation modules for protected vegetables, poinsettias, kalanchoes and other crops, and has verified its performance. The Kaohsiung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station has applied it to smart nutrient solution irrigation for papaya and mist cooling management for red dragon fruit, which not only saves labor but also stabilizes crop yield and quality.
