Full Text of Announcement No. 2032 Issued by the Ministry of Agriculture

To safeguard agricultural production safety, agricultural product quality and safety, and ecological environment safety, and to protect people's lives and health, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Regulations on Pesticide Administration, and upon deliberation by the National Pesticide Registration Review Committee, it has been decided to adopt further restrictive and prohibitive management measures for 7 pesticides including chlorsulfuron, ethametsulfuron, metsulfuron-methyl, asomate, monomethylarsonic acid, chlorpyrifos and triazophos. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows.

  I. As of December 31, 2013, the pesticide registration certificates for chlorsulfuron (including technical material, single-agent formulations and mixed formulations, the same below) shall be revoked, and as of December 31, 2015, the sale and use of chlorsulfuron within China shall be prohibited.

  II. As of December 31, 2013, the registration certificates for single-agent ethametsulfuron products shall be revoked, and as of December 31, 2015, the sale and use of single-agent ethametsulfuron products within China shall be prohibited; as of July 1, 2015, the registration certificates for ethametsulfuron technical material and mixed formulation products shall be revoked, and as of July 1, 2017, the sale and use of ethametsulfuron mixed formulation products within China shall be prohibited.

  III. As of December 31, 2013, the registration certificates for single-agent metsulfuron-methyl products shall be revoked, and as of December 31, 2015, the sale and use of single-agent metsulfuron-methyl products within China shall be prohibited; as of July 1, 2015, the registration certificates for metsulfuron-methyl technical material and mixed formulation products shall be revoked, and as of July 1, 2017, the sale and use of metsulfuron-methyl mixed formulation products within China shall be prohibited; registration for overseas export use of metsulfuron-methyl shall be retained, and enterprises may, before July 1, 2015, apply to change their existing registrations to overseas export use registrations.

  IV. As of the date of publication of this announcement, acceptance of pesticide registration applications for asomate and monomethylarsonic acid shall cease, and approval of new pesticide registration certificates for asomate and monomethylarsonic acid shall cease; as of December 31, 2013, the pesticide registration certificates for asomate and monomethylarsonic acid shall be revoked, and as of December 31, 2015, the sale and use of asomate and monomethylarsonic acid within China shall be prohibited.
V. As of the date of publication of this announcement, acceptance of registration applications for chlorpyrifos and triazophos on vegetables shall cease, and approval of new registrations for chlorpyrifos and triazophos on vegetables shall cease; as of December 31, 2014, the registrations for chlorpyrifos and triazophos on vegetables shall be revoked, and as of December 31, 2016, the use of chlorpyrifos and triazophos on vegetables shall be prohibited.
