First, to expand urban greening space, selection will tend toward plants with greater “flexible application,” which have the following traits: smaller plant form, easy to shape, and simple maintenance; second, wetland parks are mainly parks themed around water, and such plants must be hydrophilic, so some aquatic plants that can purify water quality and prevent and control water pollution will undoubtedly become the top choice; third, the construction of forest parks and ecological barriers cannot do without large quantities of conventional plants, and will need many local native tree species.
Precisely because of the emphasis on ecology, engineering seedlings will, on the previous basis, place greater emphasis on their practical value. Nursery stock traders should fully recognize and grasp the transition period of national construction. Nursery stock selection and operations should focus on the varieties mentioned above, remain rational, and strengthen market analysis.
