Standardized Wheat Sowing Technology Promoted by the National Agricultural Technology Center
Recently, the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center gathered more than 100 heads of agricultural technology extension agencies from 11 major wheat-producing provinces north of the Yangtze River to hold the “National Wheat Autumn Sowing On-site Observation and Technical Training Class” in Yongshou County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, and demonstrated and promoted standardized wheat sowing technology.
Standardized wheat sowing technology standardizes five aspects: tillage and seedbed preparation, variety selection, fertilizer management, timely sowing, and appropriate seeding rate. This training class invited 6 experts, including Guo Tiancai, deputy head of the Wheat Expert Guidance Group of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Wang Zhimin, professor at China Agricultural University, to conduct technical training on topics such as standardized wheat sowing technology and comprehensive cultivation technology for dryland wheat.
“For wheat, ‘seven parts sowing, three parts management’; improving sowing quality through standardized wheat sowing is of very important significance for cultivating strong wheat seedlings, improving disaster resistance such as drought and cold resistance, and ensuring high and stable yields.” Professor Guo Tiancai said at the standardized wheat sowing site. At this observation meeting, a variety of standardized sowing machines from different regions across the country, including rotary tillage fertilizer applicators and seeders, three-dimensional uniform wheat seeders, and compactors, carried out on-site sowing demonstrations and demonstrated integrated standardized sowing technology.
