The flower scape rises 40-plus cm above the foliage. The floral bracts are distinctive, especially thick and glutinous with multiple veins, and the buds are bizarre, like dragon horns. After the flowers open, the flower scape turns from red to green, becoming clean and tender green, but the flower stalks still retain a red-purple color. The outer three petals of this flower are round and thick, with tightly rolled edges arching inward, and the shoulders are level in a straight line. The petals are hard, with a very high degree of maleness. The white tips are as crystalline and bright as diamonds. The column is delicate and upright like a dragon's nose, with a dragon-swallowing tongue, and the tip of the tongue is crystal clear and translucent. The central palace is well proportioned, with the two petals and the tongue forming an equilateral triangle, like three diamonds. Professor Liu Qingyong specially named it "Three-Diamond Round Plum."
