Introduction to the characteristics of the Tiegu Su Mei Jianlan (Cymbidium ensifolium) variety
This famous cultivar was selected from Tiegu Su. The flower shape is a slightly plum-type pure-centered narcissus petal, with a well-proportioned bloom and excellent spirit and charm. The five petals are clearly separated; the three outer petals have contracted bases and tight edges, with a slight hooding. The inner petals are soft-hooded Guanyin petals, tightly covering the column tip. Because the petal edges harden and hood, they have a slight dark rim, making them even more distinctive. The lip petal is a Ruyi lip, and sometimes it also opens as a small Liuhai lip...
This variety was selected and bred around the Mid-Autumn Festival in the autumn of 1999. It was discovered by orchid enthusiast Wu Haibao of Caitang Town, Chao'an County, under the historically and culturally famous city of Chaozhou. Wu Haibao selected it after it bloomed among Tiegu Su plants purchased from a flower nursery in Jinshi Town, which borders Caitang Town. The leaf shape, leaf texture, and form of this cultivar are extremely similar to ordinary Tiegu Su, making it very difficult to distinguish.
