Qingshen Mei: A Cymbidium ensifolium variety hailed as the finest plum-petal orchid of Qingshen
A top-tier plum-petal Cymbidium ensifolium, Qingshen Mei has stable flowering form, thick and hard leaf texture, and short, broad leaves. Its verdant petals contrast sharply with the red spots on the lip, making it truly a rare treasure among lotus-fairy orchids. This plum-petal orchid was produced by the shores of Qingxia Lake in Luowan Township, Qingshen County, Sichuan, and was dug and collected from the wild by a Lan farmer surnamed Zeng from that township! Before the main spring harvest of 1998, the farmer surnamed Zeng, first because the orchid market was sluggish at the time, and second to prepare open ground for threshing and drying grain, sold the wild-collected Cymbidium ensifolium he had planted in the open space in front of his house by the jin to an orchid dealer surnamed Wu from Mount Emei! While pulling up the grass and weighing it, the farmer surnamed Zeng suddenly remembered that under a citrus tree there had been a plant that had bloomed with a butterfly-type flower the year before, so he went to look for it, but he could not figure out exactly which plant it was. After searching again and again, in helplessness he casually pulled up a plant with 5 or 6 old pseudobulbs and 3 new shoots! Who would have thought that this helpless pull would leave a supreme plum-petal Cymbidium ensifolium - the finest plum-petal orchid of Qingshen - in Qingshen!

The leaf material of Qingshen is not as arching and drooping as that of Xiahua, and the leaves are not as wide either!
