Cymbidium ensifolium 'Huicui Fenhé' Orchid Pictures and Characteristics Introduction

Selected and bred by Mr. Huang Zilie of Shantou's "Huicui Orchid Garden"! A standard lotus-petal variety of Sijilan (Cymbidium ensifolium). Leaf quality broad and thick, with even wood-grain patterns, leaf color dark green, slanting upright, fish-belly-shaped with abrupt tips, plant height about 30-40CM; among Sijilan it is a medium-to-large flower type (about 3CM-3.5CM), the three outer petals have obviously contracted bases and flared corners, with a ratio of 2:1, the petaloids are well-formed, ru-yi tongue; what is special is that the flower color is very distinctive: from small bud stage to large bud stage, the flower buds are milky white inlaid with jade-green stripe lines, very attractive, and only when they bloom does the flower color turn pink with a few green stripes interspersed; the flower color is pink, gorgeously striking, and the whole flower is quite imposing. Medium-short, slanting upright leaves; leaf color dark green with wood-grain patterns, blunt tips, leaf ends with silver-thread swept tips; buds purplish red, leaf sheaths broad, thick, short and round. The three outer petals have contracted bases and flared corners; flower buds milky white with green lines, gradually turning pink only when they bloom, with a few green stripes, bright and beautiful.

In 1999, Shantou orchid enthusiast Mr. Huang Zilie purchased it at the mobile flower market in Shantou People's Square; at the time the whole clump had 10 plants, and he bought and kept it because its leaf material showed obvious lotus-petal characteristics.
