Variety Characteristics and Care Methods of the New Sanyuan Jianlan

Among the Four Great Plum Butterflies of Sijilan (Huigui Die, also known as New Sanyuan Mei Die) (Emei Mei Die, also known as Old Sanyuan Qi Die) (Pujiang Mei Die) (Xinjin Mei Die), it is a legendary flower with relatively stable stock and blooming form when it produces the butterfly trait.

This flower is highly esteemed by veteran orchid enthusiasts, and many hardcore growers have collected it. It is also my own favorite classic flower.

In the early years it was almost completely collected out in its place of origin, leaving only a scattered few in Sichuan. In 2006, orchid friend Jingdizhiwa once bought 1 pot in Sichuan, and I immediately bought 3 shoots from him at the high price of 15000 yuan..

In the mid-1990s, a little of it was sold to Taiwan, China. At that time, mainland orchid dealers even passed off Hanjiang Mingzhu as New Sanyuan and Old Sanyuan to sell to orchid enthusiasts in Taiwan, China, causing today's confusion. The quality of what is now sold back is basically extremely poor.. Most of what is seen for sale online is either buy-back stock or fakes.

Compared with the blooming form of Emei Mei Die (also known as Old Sanyuan Qi Die), which combines the three types of plum, lotus, and butterfly in one, Huigui Die (also known as New Sanyuan Mei Die) is just a standard plum butterfly, but the stability of Huigui Die's butterfly-form blooming is far superior to that of Emei Mei Die. Therefore, among the Four Great Plum Butterflies of Sijilan, Huigui Die ranks first, and so far no new plum butterfly variety has been found that can surpass it..
