Introduction to the characteristics of the Cymbidium lianpan cultivar Limei
A fine-leaved Cymbidium lianpan with semi-upright leaves, bearing 2-3 flowers per scape; the petals carry red markings and the column is semi-hard, making it a fairly representative "floating plum" type. It was first selected by Mr. Qin, a senior orchid grower in Baoshan, from a wild-collected seedling with a rhizome (dragon root) that bore flower buds. Because the plant was purchased in Lijiang, it was named "Limei". This flower is deeply loved by orchid enthusiasts; at its peak, 80,000 yuan per seedling still made it hard to buy.
