The specific details of its discovery: "One day in the winter of the lunar year 2006 (January 2007 in the solar calendar), a flower farmer from Dongxixi Township, Huoshan County, collected a snakeskin bag of Cymbidium goeringii in the local mountain forest and planted them in the woods behind the mountain. On Lunar New Year's Eve 2006 (February 17, 2007 in the solar calendar), the mountain farmer found a flowering Cymbidium goeringii among these collected plants, dug it up and planted it in a pot, and called me to come see it. That is how this lotus-petal flower was discovered." (Wang Yonghong)
