Brief Introduction: Petal type: green shell, green floating-door wavy petals
History: During the Republic of China period, it was selected by the famous Wuxi orchid master Mr. Jiang Dongfu. Mr. Jiang regarded this flower as a treasure and never parted with it during his lifetime, designating it as the sole treasure of his garden. After Mr. Jiang passed away, the famous Wuxi orchid master Mr. Shen Yuanru sought it with a large sum of money and only obtained it after much effort. At that time, the orchid world universally recognized the Spring Orchid 'Lu Yun' and the Cymbidium faberi 'Duo Yun' as the two supreme "Yun" varieties among orchids and cymbidiums. In the old days, growing orchids was easy but cultivating cymbidiums was difficult; rarity drives up value, and the price of 'Duo Yun' was measured in gold, with the value per leaf far exceeding that of the Spring Orchid 'Lu Yun'.
Characteristics: The five petals are wavy; the lip petals are round and broad, upturned and wrinkled like cat ears, each lip petal having a small round pale yellow protruding mark toward the center, surrounded by yellow, white and green halo colors, with a large liu hai tongue. It is a novel variety with a distinctive style among the wrinkled-angle plum-petal forms, and has also added a wavy-petal protruding-lip format to China's orchid and cymbidium exotic petal types. The flower scape of the 'Lao Duo Yun' variety is generally not tall; to make the flower scape rise above the leaves and produce a majestic, upright, elegant and free-spirited display, the plant must be cultivated into a short, sturdy form. This requires strong light, low humidity and large temperature differences during the growing season, with less nitrogen fertilizer. Below are the overall displays from last year and this year. As for individual flowers, the display of 'Lao Duo Yun' is also variable, which is related to factors such as when the flower bud appears, the length of vernalization time, and the vernalization temperature. The earlier the flower bud appears and the more thorough the vernalization, the more refined and elegant the flower quality.
