Characteristics and Appreciation of the Xiaoyao Mei Cymbidium goeringii Variety

A famous native variety of Cymbidium goeringii from Jiangsu and Zhejiang, both an old and new cultivar, 'Xiaoyao' opens with an upward-facing lotus-type narcissus form with a notched lip; the flowers are delicately fragrant, the five petals extremely round, and the blooms superbly dainty and lovely. The column petals bear two red blushes, just like the flushed cheeks of a shy young woman, making it highly distinctive and well worth introducing and collecting for connoisseurs.
