The leaf sheath (leaf base) is long and broad, dark red-green in color, slanting outward; the leaf base has crease-like protrusions; the leaf groove (the shape presented by the cross-section of the leaf base) is a deep "V" shape; the main vein is central and relatively thick, the lateral veins are fine, with no interveinal threads; the leaf surface is flat and smooth, and traces of the lateral veins are visible on old leaves; the leaf margin is smooth, and fine serrations are faintly visible at the tips of new young leaves, with acuminate leaf tips.

The flower is a standard-form yellow flower plum petal, with a well-proportioned center; the three outer petals have a good narrowed base and broadened angle, the petals are thick and waxy, and the flower stem is emerald green with no stray colors, hence the name "Green Guangdong." When in full bloom, most do not turn or droop, but instead mostly face upward; the three outer petals are tender green like jade, apple-shaped at the tips, with a sharply narrowed base; the silkworm-moth-shaped stamen, smooth and jade-like as if polished, and the dragon-swallowing tongue poised to strike, the center is harmonious, and the pairing with the apple-shaped tips of the three outer petals is exquisitely beautiful. Together with "Yellow Guangdong Mei," they are known as sister flowers.
