Discovered around 1915 in Yuyao, with another account saying it was discovered in Suzhou. The leaves are semi-arching, broad in shape, with bluntly pointed tips, relatively soft in texture, and dark green in color. The bud sheaths are water-red with green speckles. The three outer petals of the flower are long-stalked with rounded heads, tightly edged, narrowed at the base, with level shoulders; the lip is a semi-hard silkworm-moth type, with thick red stripes on the inner side, and an ruyi tongue.
