"Selected by Zhu Xiangbao of Shaoxing during the Republic of China period. The three outer petals are short and round, the shoulders are level, the petals form a semi-hard hooded central petal, and the lip is a Liu Hai tongue. On this flower the fleshy color on the sheath is not obvious, and the bract leaves have striped color. When the flower is mostly showing through the sheath, it usually must be 'operated on'; only after the opening is pried apart can the flower form properly. The petals are flat and neat. The leaf color is dark, the basal sheaths are low, and the central leaves often curl up. After flowering it should be placed in a slightly sunny spot, otherwise it is not easy to bloom."
