The three outer petals have narrowed bases and flared corners, Guanyin-held petals, and a large Liu Hai tongue bearing a smile-shaped red patch. The flowers are large, the petals thick, the color glutinous and jade-green, very distinctive. The leaf form is semi-pendant.
On January 30, 2001 (the seventh day of the first lunar month), Luo Huadong collected it on a cliffside of a mountain in the Siming Mountains. After cultivation, this plant rebloomed with one flower in 2002, just in time for the fourth Zhejiang Provincial Orchid Exhibition held in Yuyao, where it won the silver award. In rebloom, the center of the flower was full and rounded, the flower form large and the color extremely jade-green; the smile-mouth-shaped red patch on the large Liu Hai tongue matched the flower bud dissected at the time of collection from the wild; the three outer petals were thick and solid with good narrowed bases and flared corners, the petal tips clasping and embracing, and the scape about 15cm tall. Considering the place of discovery and the flower color, it was named "Hemu Chunse." Silkworm-moth-held petals, a large Liu Hai tongue, a smile-shaped red patch on the tongue surface, and three outer petals with narrowed bases and flared corners, the petal tips tightly edged, clasping and embracing. The flowers are large and the color extremely jade-green, the scape about 15cm tall, with a delicate fragrance. The leaf form is obliquely pendant, more than 30cm long. New shoots are pale red, with deep color at the shoot tips; it is extremely easy to grow and has a high shoot-production rate. The flower buds turn from silver-red to predominantly green, with deep green color on the upper part of the bud sheath, abundant sand-like speckling, clear veins, and a bud sheath that is thin yet elastic.
