A new famous variety of Sichuan Spring Orchid plain-flower type. History: In the early 1990s, it was selected by a Zhang surnamed orchid enthusiast from Wenjiang from a plot where wild-collected orchids were planted together; the specific place of origin is unknown. Characteristics: Cuihuo Su has a graceful leaf posture, with broad, slanting, upright leaves that taper smoothly, forming a fish-belly shape; the leaf color is dark green, and the leaf tips show white heads, called in orchid terminology "crystal tips," so when care is poor, scorched tips easily appear. Every year in July the flower buds first form, plump and round, with tender green sheaths, whose tips are semi-transparent and crystal-like, and the sheaths clasp each other like bamboo shoot shells. In early spring of the following year, the buds first open, displaying their beauty in the spring breeze and fine rain. The flower stalk is pure green, with 2-5 flowers standing elegantly on the stem; the petal color is emerald green, the corners are standard, while the base is slightly long, making it a lotus-shaped petal; the lip color is tender white, and it is a large round lip; the shoulders are level, the form is upright, and it looks like a gentleman in plain robes, with a fragrance that is distant and delightful, combining color, fragrance, form, and charm, with beauty in one.
