[History]: Discovered by Zhu Zhusheng of Shaoxing and cultivated by the Cao family of Wuxi. Named for its well-proportioned plum-petal excellence.
[Characteristics]: Fine, thick leaves of the arching-drooping type, leaf length 40-70 cm, leaf width 0.6-1.1 cm, with a handsome color and posture that are both elegant. The flower scape is slender (height 70 cm) and rises above the leaf surface, the pedicel is light purple, the three outer petals have long feet and tight edges, rounded tips, and narrowed bases, the lateral sepals are level-shouldered, the color is pretty, and the fragrance is strong. The petals form a semi-hard hooded pouch, the large ruyi tongue is well-formed, and the red spots on the tongue surface are vivid; it is a prized red Cymbidium green-flowered plum-petal variety.
