The leaves are narrow and slender, thick and hard in texture, about 0.6 cm wide and about 20--25 cm long.  The three outer petals are broad and large, with a narrow base; the petal flesh is thick, soft, and smooth. The main petal is shaped like a "sunshade," the two lateral sepals have tightly rolled edges and form a level shoulder, and the petal tips have purplish-black markings (this is one of the characteristics of this flower). The petals form a soft silkworm-moth hood-shaped cupped center, round, thick, and glossy; the lip is a large Ruyi tongue and does not droop when first opened. It is a small-plant, large-flower type and relatively easy to produce flower buds, making it a rare fine variety among both new and old cultivars.
