Farmer from Jiangxian County, Shanxi makes bottled fresh field tomatoes
Processing tomatoes into sauce for storage to serve on winter tables is a common practice among many people in northern China, but processed tomatoes often lose their original freshness. Recently, farmer Zhang Cunyi of Jiangxian County, under the guidance of experts, developed his own technique to bottle and store fresh tomatoes grown in his own fields, which has become a hot topic among local people.
These bottled fresh field tomatoes are made from pure, natural, high-quality tomatoes grown by Zhang Cunyi in his own fields from July to September and naturally ripened under the sun. No seasonings or additives are added during processing; after manual peeling, advanced freshness-preservation technology and techniques are used for bottling. The entire production process was tracked and guided by experts from the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
After these tomatoes were peddled via WeChat, they aroused people's interest across our province. “I originally thought bottled tomatoes were just the kind of sauce my family makes, but after tasting them I found that the taste and freshness are just like tomatoes freshly picked from the field.” On January 6, Zhao Ping, who lives on Shifan Street in Taiyuan, said this in an interview with reporters.
Zhang Cunyi is 65 years old this year and is from Xishan Village, Gujiang Town, Jiangxian County. Starting in 2014, with the support of national policies, he founded a rural cooperative and began growing and producing tomatoes. Zhang Cunyi's greatest wish is that through his own efforts, he can connect the highest-quality agricultural products from their place of origin with the urban market, so that people can eat the freshest field vegetables.
